Listen - AlunaGeorge - "Attracting Flies"

Hot off their excellent collab with Disclosure, AlunaGeorge have released the first track to appear on their debut LP Body Music. "Attracting Flies" features Francis' delicate vocals over slick production, courtesy of partner George Reid. The duo have made huge waves to this point, and the single only shows more to come. Listen to "Attracting Flies" below, which will be released as a single March 10th along with remixes from Baauer, among others.

Listen: Major Lazer - "Watch Out For This (Bumaye)"

Major Lazer have unfortunately pushed back the release date for their Free The Universe LP, which should've been out February 19th. No word on a release date, only a statement from Diplo and company apologizing for the "hiccup". However, they have shared a new track entitled "Watch Out For This (Bumaye)" [ft. Busy Signal, The Flexigan & FS Green]. Check out the bass-driven banger below.

Listen: Friendzone - Kuchibiru Network 3 (mixtape)

Okland-based producers Friendzone have released their Kuchibiru Network 3 mixtape, which clocks in at just about 70 minutes. The compilation features contributions from artists such as Ryan Hemsworth and Main Attrakionz, among others. Stream it below and download here.

Stream: Laura Setevenson & The Cans - Runner EP

This one slipped by a few weeks ago, but it's never to late for Laura Stevenson & The Cans. As she gears up to release her Wheel LP April 23rd, Stevenson has put out a 3-track EP entitled Runner. The title track will be featured on the upcoming LP, yet the other two cuts stand on their own. If this is any indication, the LP will follow up Sit Resist nicely, which sits pretty high on our albums of 2011. Can't wait. Buy the EP/pre-order Wheel here.

Listen: Juicy J + The Weeknd - "One Of Those Nights"

New Juicy J track, which is notable for an Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) feature. Tesfaye fills out nearly half the cut on "One Of Those Nights", with lines such as "If they neighbors know my name, then I'm doing something right". Filthy as always. Check it out below. [via]

Listen: Phoenix - "Entertainment"

Phoenix have shared the first track from their anticipated Bankrupt! LP due out April 23rd (April 22nd in the UK). Loving the single artwork. Check out "Entertainment" below.

Listen: Vox Mod + Shabazz Palaces - "Iridescent Asteroid Mists"

Finally, new material from Shabazz Palaces. Seattle-based producer Vox Mod has teamed up with Ishmael Butler on "Iridescent Asteroid Mists", which is to be featured on the former's SYN-ÆSTHETIC LP come April 2nd. Butler drops his abstract, thought-provoking rhymes as per usual, yet it is foreign and refreshing to hear them over a beat from someone other than Tendai Maraire, his Shabazz Palaces counterpart (which we wouldn't mind hearing at this point either). Listen to the single below.

Listen: Four Tet + RocketNumberNine - "Roseland"

The ever-busy Kieran Hebden has teamed up with London duo RocketNumberNine to release an 8-minute sprawler. "Roseland" will be out via Hebden's Text Records in the coming weeks, along with a b-side entitled "Metropolis". Check it out below.

Listen: Jessie Ware - "Diamonds" (Rihanna Cover)

Check out Jessie Ware's take on Rihanna's "Diamonds", which immediately comes off as softer and more restraint than the original. Jessie Ware is as delicate as ever. The cover was performed for BBC Radio 1.

Listen/Download: Giraffage - Needs (Mixtape)

San Francisco-based producer Charlie Yin, better known as Giraffage, has released a new mixtape entitled Needs. The tape plays like a dreamy chopped-and-screwed collection, which aligns with the praise Yin has received for his sample work. Listen to Needs below and download it here.

Watch: The Weeknd - "Twenty Eight" (NSFW)

The NSFW video for The Weeknd's "Twenty Eight" unsurprisingly features a pair of ladies parading around topless. This is consistent with Abel Tesfaye's image sonically, as we'd expect nothing less from the man. The track was included as new material on the recently released Trilogy, which served as a compilation of the three acclaimed mixtapes Tesfaye put out in 2011. You can watch the video here and stream it above in a little bit.

Listen: Purity Ring - "Grammy"

Purity Ring fittingly release a fine rework of Soulja Boy's "Grammy" today. This is tight. Be sure to catch the duo on tour.

Listen: Youth Lagoon - "Mute"

Trevor Powers has a knack for conveying an innate sense of nothingness through his music. Youth Lagoon's The Year Of Hibernation astonished listeners despite being a gigantic hole, with its dreamy melodies and barely discernable lyrics. It was beautifully void, a vacuity to be filled with unexplainable longings collected from poignant ears. Powers' musicianship will evolve, there's no doubt about that. He has already shown an expansion in his vision and instrumentation, as he begins to incorporate and experiment more and more. "Mute" shows this, but it also exemplifies the same vacancy present on Youth Lagoon's debut. It appears Powers is beginning to find his way, but he will always seem lost in his own world; a world he fortunately feels content with sharing. The track will join "Dropla" on the upcoming Wondrous Bughouse LP, out March 5th on Fat Possum.

Watch: James Blake - "Retrograde"

Peep the music video for what is our uncontested favorite single of the year so far. James Blake's "Retrograde" will be featured on his upcoming Overgrown LP, out April 8th. [Directed by Martin de Thurah]

Listen: Thee Oh Sees - "Minotaur"

The San Francisco based garage-rock group Thee Oh Sees are gearing up to release Floating Coffins, the follow up to 2012's Putrifiers II. Hear "Minotaur" below, they're first single and the closing track on from the upcoming album. The cut leans towards a more traditional alternative sound as opposed to being dominantly psychedelic, which we've seen from the band. However, they excel within both categories, as they find their niche between the two. "Minotaur" is no exception, as they bring forth a throwback melody with ease. Floating Coffins is out April 16 on Castle Face.

Listen: James Blake - "Retrograde"

"Retrograde" is noticeably less minimal than that of the material on his self titled, but James Blake is no stranger to switching up his style. Rooted in the early dubstep scene, the English producer has come a long way since his first singles. This particular cut remains predominately piano-led, that is until the beat drops. A controlled chaos is thrown directly at listeners: sirens blaring, Blake belting "we're alone now"; this is as confident and unrestraint his vocals have been in recent memory. This is the single that he needed after being gone for nearly a year, to have fans saying: "Finally, a James Blake track." It's that good. "Retrograde" is the first single off his upcoming Overgrown LP out April 8th.
