Listen: TEEN - "Ambient"

The Brooklyn-based outfit TEEN has put out an unreleased track entitled "Ambient". Not surprisingly, the cut is predominantly instrumental. While vocals do appear as the tune progresses, you'd be hard-pressed to make out the lyrics. What results is a sprawling piece that is, in fact, ambient. The song is an outtake from last year's praised and enjoyable In Limbo. Check out "Ambient" below.

Listen: The Strokes - "One Way Trigger"

The newest track from veterans The Strokes has been put out, as promised. "One Way Trigger" balances Julian Casablancas' trademark hoarse deliveries with some falsettos, which is appealing when paired with the fast-paced riffs the band is known for. Download it from the band's website.

Listen: Jacques Green - "Quicksand"

New track from Canadian producer Jacques Green. The cut features a light melody topped over with some lush vocal samples. Check out "Quicksand" below, the first song of 2013 for Green.

Listen: Disclosure + AlunaGeorge - "White Noise"

A much-welcomed collaboration between two of the most buzzed-about duos on the UK scene has surfaced. Electronic artist Disclosure has teamed up with AlunaGeorge's Aluna Francis to release the single "White Noise". The infectious track pairs together brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence's brooding and atmospheric production with Francis' soft delivery. Although regularly understated, the vocals shine through in select moments with forceful delivery, particularly the chorus. The track will appear on Disclosure upcoming LP, expected sometime this summer.

Listen: Lunice - 1XTRA MIX

Peep the hour-long mix from Lunice, half of the trap-duo TNGHT. The mix features their remix of the G.O.O.D. Music posse cut "Clique" around the 56-minute mark.

Listen: Youth Lagoon - "Dropla"

Youth Lagoon's announcement of his Wondrous Bughouse LP has been followed up with the emergence of the first track from the upcoming release. "Dropla" appears, as a whole, a busier piece than heard previously from Trevor Powers. The instrumentation is full and the ghostly, barely-there vocals of Powers has been replaced by a more potent delivery. Despite all this, the track retains the same delicacy and tenderness of The Year Of Hibernation, qualities that made it one of our favorites of last year. Wondrous Bughouse is out March 5th.

Watch: SBTRKT - "Trials Of The Past" (NSFW)

Check out the visionary work of director Ross Anderson in the video for SBTRKT's "Trials Of The Past", off his 2011 self-titled debut. It garners the NSFW tag for featuring some demon barber-shop action.

Listen: Joey Bada$$ + DJ Premier - "Unorthodox"

The highly-anticipated collaboration between legendary producer DJ Premier and the prodigy boom-bap revivalist Joey Bada$$ has arrived. Thanks to Green Label Sound, Mountain Dew's record label, you can download "Unorthodox" below. It is unfortunately a clean version, yet it is hard to complain when you receive a free track from this duo. The cut hopes to set off an already-hopeful 2013 for the Pro Era member. Late december of last year saw the release of his crew mixtape, and his appearance on A$AP Rocky's "1 Train" is show stopping.

Listen: Frank Ocean + Outkast - "Pink Matter (Remix)"

A while back, one-half of the seminal hip-hop group Outkast-put out the above picture, teasing fans to the thought of the elusive reunion to appear on the Andre 3000-featured Frank Ocean track "Pink Matter". Well, that track has surfaced. While not as conventional a reunion as fans hoped for, Big Boi's smooth verse preceding 3-stack's is silk on silk. Check it out and download below, and here's to hoping something is in the works between the veterans.

Listen: Toro Y Moi - "Lyin Pt. 1-4"

As Toro Y Moi gears up to release his fourth full-length LP later this month (Anything In Return), he has also set up a tour with Atlanta's Dog Bite. In commemoration, the two plan to release a split only to be sold as a 7" at shows. Check out Toro Y Moi's contribution in "Lyin Pt. 1-4" below. This is as smooth and funky as ever, and partially Dilla-influenced (second half anyways).

Listen: Merchandise - "Anxiety's Door"

Hot off an acclaimed 2012 release in Children Of Desire, the Tampa post-punk/shoe-gaze band Merchandise are set to put out a follow up this spring in the form of the Total Night EP. The release will span five tracks, including the newly-minted single "Anxiety's Door", an epic sprawler clocking in at just under 7-minutes. While the instrumentations appears as ambitious as ever, Carson Cox's dominant vocal and lyrical performance stands out above all else.

Listen: Grimes - "Skin (Four Tet Remix)"

Four Tet just pushed a rework of Grimes' "Skin" via twitter: "It's just some track I made the other day using a loop from her record... no remix going on or anything." Rework, remix, whatever you want to call it, this is as nice as it gets.

Listen: The Men - "Electric"

The Men's follow up to 2012's Open Your Heart will inevitably be met with anticipation and expectations, as New Moon is scheduled for a March 5th release. Over the span of three albums, the group have consistently pumped out punk/garage rock jams worth getting excited over, and the first track from their upcoming LP is no exception. Check out "Electric" above and order the 7" here (with b-side "Water Babies")

Listen: Atoms For Peace - "Judge Jury and Executioner"

Thom Yorke knows how to keep himself busy, and busy he has been. He has been hard at work on Amok, the debut LP from his Atoms For Peace band (joined by Nigel Godrich, Flea, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refasco). The newest track, entitled "Judge Jury and Executioner" (screams Radiohead), joins "Default" as a single. You wouldn't be amiss to mistake this as a product of a Thom Yorke solo outing, or any other ghostly Radiohead work. Listen to it above. Amok is out February 25th.

Listen: The xx - "Sunset (Jamie xx Edit)

Jamie xx throws two-and-a-half minutes onto The xx's "Sunset", filling his band's understated sound with negative space. The remix work is very reminiscent of a brooding Four Tet mix, which is always a good thing. The original track is featured on The xx's Coexist, which was put out last year.

Listen: Local Natives - "Heavy Feet"

Local Native's "Heavy Feet" will join "Breakers" on the upcoming sophomore LP Hummingbird, which is out January 29 (28 in Europe). While the new track doesn't soar quite as high as "Breakers", it is anything but subdued. Local Natives are as lush as ever. Listen to the cut below.
