Listen: Obey City - "100% CHANCE OF RAIN"

Spotlight: E e l a y - Luna EP

Luna is mood music for the wanderers. The ones who spend the late and early hours of the day about the city streets, in search of something undefined or not quite seen. They don’t know what they’re looking for, yet they scan the infinitely abundant rooftops, alleyways, and apartment balconies regardless. It’s an isolated feeling, one that e e l a y’s 5-track release encapsulates perfectly. [after the jump...]

Listen: Låpsley - "Falling Short"

Great new cut from the Liverpool-native Låpsley in "Falling Short", which will be on the upcoming Annie Mac Presents 2014. There's an eloquency in the artist's constant repetition and balanced tempo that promotes a certain enthralling sensation; it's a soothingly affirming feeling, listening to this track, and we digg it A LOT. Check it out below and pre-order the compilation here.

Listen: Kuma - "Reason In Madness"

Kuma's "Reason In Madness" is slick. The Los Angeles/Tacoma-based Flow-Fi producer concocts a dizzying and blossoming affair that's held together by a permeating smoothness throughout. Oh, and +1 for the Ciara sample. Check out the track below.

Listen - Kero Kero Bonito - "I'd Rather Sleep (et aliae Remix)"

London-based producer et aliae transforms the always-light Kero Kero Bonito jam "I'd Rather Sleep" into a broodingly low-key cut, a transfiguration that we wholly welcome. Sarah Bonito sounds surprisingly fitting over the lush soundscape, despite her group's affinity for making quirky and danceable (almost sharp) tunes. You can check out the rework below, which will be on the upcoming "Bonito Recycling" remix EP. [via]

Listen: French Leisure - "Birds"

Check out the Paris-based group French Leisure's single "Birds", a delicately imperfect pop-tune that charms with its slightly muted delivery.

Listen: ODESZA - "Say My Name (ft. Zyra) [cln Remix]"

Check out cln's buzzing rework of ODESZA's "Say My Name" below and vote for it to be on the official remix compilation here. It deserves to be on there for sure, with it's dizzying layers and rousing bass isolation creating an exemplary piece that stands on its own.

Watch: The Derevolutions - "Now You Know My Name"

Check out the music video for The Derevolution's "Now You Know My Name", the infectious standout track from their free-to-download self-titled LP released earlier this year. [Directed by Tristan Jalleh]

Listen: JMSN + ESTA. - "Beautiful Torture"

Listen: Padillion - "ur heart is beating (feat. Lontalius)"

Listen: SALES - "getting it on"

Check out the beautifully delicate track "getting it on" off SALES' self-titled debut EP, a little 5-track release that we can't stop jamming. The down-tempo cut breathes softly and exemplifies a heart-tugging pop melody that is recurrent throughout the band's short-list of singles thus far. There's an irresistible likability here, as the band's feathery delivery captures a harmonious comfort despite delving into some emotionally off-putting themes. You can buy the EP here as of today, which features artwork from Alana Questell, and listen to "getting it on" below.

Listen: Litany - "Look"

The New Yorkshire-based duo Litany have released a new single in "Look", a delicately brooding, almost-simmering track that sits constantly on the edge of glorious eruption. This point is never quite reached, however; instead, the pair choose to produce a subdued and balanced soundscape that displays subtlety and anticipation all for the better. Check out/download "Look" for free below.

Listen: Poolside + Fatnotronic - "Onda"

Check out a delicately breezy collaboration from duos Poolside and Fatnotronic in their edit of Cassiano's "Onda". The track is off La.Ga.Sta's fourth installment in their Late Summer compilation, a 15-cut "extension of summer". The track is expectantly light as ever, emitting it's beauteous disco-tinged bass lines in a hypnotically soothing manner: this screams beach jam, as if the airy laid-back factor was ever in question. Check out/download the full compilation for free here and listen to "Onda" below.

Listen: Made In Heights - "Ghosts"

Listen: Andrea - "Loud Smoke"

The Parisian producer Andrea has released a one-off track to tide over fan anticipation in "Loud Smoke". The track is visceral and cathartic, encapsulating the qualities of a fogged-out and sprawling instrumental suggested by its title. According to the artist's facebook page, we can expect some remixes and more material real soon. Check out/download "Loud Smoke" below.

9/12/14

Listen: Francisco The Man - "Big Ideas"

Listen: Bop - "The Backbone Flute"

Producer Bop has released the newest track off his upcoming Punk's Not Dead LP on Hospital Records. Sometimes-introverted, sometimes-expansive, "The Backbone Flute" is an exemplary melt of sharp, glitchy tones and spaced-out soundscapes that culminate in a blended and sprawling piece. Check out/download the track for free below. [via]

9/8/14

Listen: SBTRKT - "Higher (ft. Raury)"

In lieu of SBTRKT's upcoming Wonder Where We Land LP (September 29th via Young Turks), the producer has released the lead single in "Higher". Check out the Raury-featuring track above.

Listen: TEK.LUN - "FOOL"

Listen: Jay Prince - "All You"

Jay Prince's slick flow is always best suited over an accordingly smooth and polished beat, so his contribution to the SOULECTION x Stussy collab/compilation The Sound Of Tomorrow is wholly welcomed. Listen to/download the entire project name-your-price here, and check out "All You" below.
