Musically, 2011 just keeps on giving and giving. Today, Trevor Powers' debut album The Year of Hibernation released. Trevor Powers, more known as Youth Lagoon, creates a melodic and soothing album that holds your interest to the end, despite using the same formula through out. Trevor Powers lays his delicate voice over seemingly dream like instrumentals and bearing drum beats, creating a very beautiful and surreal sound. Although only clocking in at 35 minutes, this is one of the better debuts I've heard all year. As a closer, I'd like to say that the the potential for Trevor Powers is very, very high. The Year of Hibernation is a great release, but there's so much ahead for the former BSU student. Youth Lagoon is definitely a name to watch these upcoming years.
