Cascine never fail to disappoint, adding Matte Wood's self-titled EP to an already-strong catalogue of solid releases so far this year. There are some gems on this little 5-track EP released by Wyatt earlier this week, who also happens to split time playing in Art of Sleeping and representing Brisbane trio MTNS as a manager. Clocking it at a length just over 13 minutes, Jarryd Shuker shows an affinity for matching his moody crooning with down-tempo and atmospheric soundscapes. In doing so, he effortlessly churns out made-for-night anthems epitomized in the opening track "Attention", which proves to be the project highlight. Check out the Wyatt EP below.
Brooklyn-based psych-pop outfit TEEN are planning to release an EP this year in Carolina, and are asking fans to help out with kickstarter donation. They're almost at their $5,000 dollar goal. To spark motivation, the band has shared the title track, which can be heard below. The song lends itself to be poppier than heard previously from the group, yet their psychedelic breakdowns are definitely not missing. If you wish to support the band, head over to their kickstarter campaign page here. [via]
This one slipped by a few weeks ago, but it's never to late for Laura Stevenson & The Cans. As she gears up to release her Wheel LP April 23rd, Stevenson has put out a 3-track EP entitled Runner. The title track will be featured on the upcoming LP, yet the other two cuts stand on their own. If this is any indication, the LP will follow up Sit Resist nicely, which sits pretty high on our albums of 2011. Can't wait. Buy the EP/pre-order Wheel here.
Burial has released the follow up to 2011's excellent Street Halos in Kindred, a three-track EP. You can stream all three tracks, including the magnificent "Ashtray Wasp", here.
Track list:
1//Kindred
